Dang, I completely forgot to mention the other thing. There was the surprise snow, the Very Ill Tino and the disaster of non-Bell tariffed service.
When we arrived, we had no messages on the machine. While this is unusual, it's not really thought provoking. On Saturday, I attempted to call Tino from the grocery store. I was told the phone was disconnected. I called his cell phone, and he was already working on it. From his end, the phone had no dial tone, just a fast busy signal. The ISDN lines still worked and are working right now. Thank goodness for that anyway.
We tried to call Sprint at least 20 times. There were various responses to this action, but they boiled down to "we're too busy to help you. call back some other time." Tino decided to call the business POTS line people because the consumer ones weren't answering. All they could tell Tino was that his phone did indeed show up as disconnected, but because they weren't customer care, they couldn't say why. He was switched to customer care, where he was again told to go away and come back tomorrow.
Keep in mind here that we have had no dial tone for several days now. Sprint couldn't care less. We finally gave up and decided to wait until I had all the bills and account numbers and check numbers in front of me so that I could get this dealt with in one go. Since we're still in Front Royal, I haven't done that yet.
