But It's OK

So, after just writing about how I was on the org chart and stuff? I am, but I'm not in R's group. I'm in beeping-gadget-man's group.[1] There is always something beeping over there.

In other words, my work limbo situation continues. I am indeed idling for a month or two until R. get's the headcount for me. He needs an analyst, so I suspect he'll get it eventually.

This is one of those things would make me angry and suspicious if I were an employee. I'd be bolting for the door. Or returning calls of the recruiter anyway. As it stands, I am Contractor Scum, so I don't care as long as they pay my bills. And they do. Regularly and on time.

But...every time this has happenned when I've been an employee, it's been a Very Bad Sign of shitty things in my future at that company. It has been made known to me that if I decide to be a squeaky wheel, I can get moved now, but I've decided that I don't want to do that. Why? As long as I get another contract to sign in the next 10 days or so, everything will be fine.

And if I don't, everything will still be fine.

I was listening to stream 1 at www.rubberpants.com again and found a 22 minute long Godspeed You Black Empreror song that I love. Previous to this, my only familiarity with them is seeing them mentioned in shiitake's diary.

Last time I listened to this stream, it resulted in much Napstering and Wish Listing (the things that I liked enough to want the album). Since I just found out the name of a Sonic Youth song that I've loved for a long time (me love you long time), Tom Violence, I think I'm in for more of the same.
