H0TTT L1NK5!!!!

So, I should have been at the office today, but I wasn't. I started to drive there and I had another one of those Bad Sick Moments like I was having last night. I guess I have the flu. My throat feels like it's on fire and I'm SUPER tired. I do not have a fever, so I decided not to get my throat swabbed. Besides, that would require way more energy than I have right now. I'm sure I just need fluids and bed rest.

Oh, let me explain the moment: I feel like I've just fallen asleep for two seconds. This is very alarming if it happens while you're trying to concentrate on something important, like driving.

At one point today, I had the TV on (though I was fixing some code via the VPN/laptop/wireless card combo at the time) and Christopher Lowell, the gayest man on television, was on TWO channels at the same time. I almost Tivo'd some of it for Tino[1], but then I decided that a) it wasn't worth the effort of pushing the button and b) he was bound to show up this weekend on the dish at the woods house. That's soon enough for the boy to experience the foofiness that is Christopher Lowell. Oh, and the FR Tivo tapes everything Martha for me. :)

Can I just take a moment to say how much That 70's Show suckdiddleyucked this week (Worst Episode Ever!)? I really like the show, generally, and I find it very funny[2], but wow, this one was a stinker. Not a good laugh in the whole show.

I was really expecting some hate mail from yesterday's entry telling me that if Bush won and Roe v. Wade was over-turned, they were blaming ME. Well, I actually got very nice mail from someone who I haven't read before, courtesy of Fed linking to that entry and agreeing with me. I love when people agree with me, and I love it even more when strangers offer to bake me cookies.

Speaking of people whom I haven't read before...just send me flattering mail, and I check out your diary. No, I'm kidding, but I like catiecake so far, so she's on the list. I've recent weeded the list, so there's room for a little more. I've also really fallen in love with a few journaly things that aren't updated anything like daily, so there are some gaps in my boring work day. Some of that gap is being filled with IRC, of course. In any case, I've gone far afield from diaryland although there are quite a few diaryland diaries still on my daily check list.

I used to use spyonit to tell me when things updated, but too many times I missed content because it didn't notice that the page was updated. I liked it because I am lazy and it saved me from checking things all the time and I also liked it because it's not a bookmark list. I use three or four different computers in a given week, so I put my link list at astrogirl so that I can find it wherever I am. Is that totally 1995 or what?! I should go put an ugly background on it, a title of H0TTT L1NK5!!!! and make an un-numbered list with chili peppers as the bullets! And maybe I should put a midi file on there to punish anyone else who tries to use the page! Yeah!

OK, we both know I'm too lazy to do that. It's just a list of links, and it's likely to stay that way.

No, I didn't link you to it.

The home inspection on the old house came in. They want a heat pump (it air conditions admirably, but it's not so good at heating...of course you can say that about all heat pumps). I'd want a new furnace if I were them too, but if I wanted to replace the furnace, the house would have been listed at $5K more. It has a home warranty, so they can get it fixed if it breaks for a small deductible. I can concede some money on the deal and still get what I need out of the sale(I was expecting to concede some money at some point), so I'm now waiting for my realtor to figure out a strategy for dealing with this. The buyer's agents don't really seem to earn their money (of course the buyer ain't payin' 'em anyway, but...), but when they are on the seller side, wow, there's a lot of crap to do.

[1]This is a fresh, shiny Tino link here. He's been putting up all sorts of content, so if you've clicked on the Tino link before, I promise there's a lot more Tino-y goodness there now. I've heard the Daylight Savings Time story before, but it's funnier when crafted for reading. It's the GIFT THAT KEEPS ON GIVING. Forgive me. I am ill.

[2]It syncs up with Junior High for me, not High School, but since it takes place in the chilly part of the midwest, Wisconsin in this case, it gets extra points. All the parents are just fantastic, but Mary Jo Rupp in particular is fucking hilarious.
