Dear VDOT:
When exactly were you planning on paving the ramp from the toll road to the outer loop? Fucking soon, I hope.
Thanks,
Nicole
Said ramp has been torn for about a week with seemingly no progress, and because people here are concerned about going over bumps in their precious SUVs, they go so slow that it's impossible to merge.
I found out that you *can* redline the Miata. If I hadn't looked at the tac, I'd have never even known I was doing it. It didn't sound whiny or protest in any way. It was that or get pushed off onto Route 7 going back the way I had just come. Um, no.
The BMW cuts off the fuel if you try and redline it. I saw Tino try and the car not do it once on the ramp from the GW Parkway to the SE/SW Freeway. If you've ever used that ramp, you'll know why. You have no merge area and 55 mile per hour traffic to slide into. The ramp going the other way is similar, but you can see as you're coming down the ramp if anyone is coming. This one is completely blind until it's your turn to go.
I do not now and have never owned a Geo. I am not the target market for a 3-cylinder car. I honestly thought that Tino was trolling[1] me when he said it had 3-cylinders. I guess it would be good for an in town car, you know, better than a Vespa. It's actually *less* cool than a Vespa, but if you live somewhere rainy, a scooter isn't really a year-round option.
Speaking of uncool, driving around in a convertible blaring Tiny Dancer is also not cool, but I got earwormed AGAIN, this time by a little snippet of a "making of" show about Almost Famous
