Tino came up with this idea wherein I needed red hair. Since I've been annoyed with my hair for some time now, I decided this was a good idea. I chose a color called Scarlet Shimmer off the shelf at the KMart (a Hydrience color). One has to know about me and hair dye: Whatever the box says...it's usually wrong. People with hair this light (except gray hair) rarely choose to dye, it would seem. As such, I do tend to get more vivid results.
Well.
I now have hair that is a very rich, dark pink. I colored it twice to get the most even coverage I could. It's not bad coverage -- it's really pink. OK, like a dark fuscia. In any case, a color that does not occur in nature. Cartoon hair. Rob said I looked like an anime version of myself.[1]
I decided that I would adapt to the hair instead of changing it to a lifelike color. Thus, I am now on the path of accepting my cartoon nature. Luckily, I have Tino for advice in such matters.
