So, I've got a couple of pictures of this. I'm sure we've all seen quotation marks where they don't belong.
First, from the Sheetz at US 50 and Poland Rd:
Let's face it: they aren't *always* baking. I guess they are earning their quotes with their slackatude, but who are they kidding anyway? I like Sheetz. Their gas is cheap and their bathrooms are highly rated among gas stations, but I don't eat the baked goods.
Next, from work:
I believe that vacuum is a totally ordinary word. Why does it need to be in quotes *and* capitalized?

Maybe it's a euphemism for getting high.
"Yeah, me and Jimmy, we were in his basement, you know, "vacuuming", and then his mom came down and we were busted."
"Bogus."
"Yeah. Now he's grounded for a month and Captain Bringdown is talking about sending him to Calmwood."
"Bogus. Wanna go vacuum?"
Posted by Tino at May 21, 2005 10:33 AMCould be. Stoners are full of euphemisms and I've heard that my office is full of stoners.
They'd have to be crypto-stoners though. Most of them look like, well, dorks to me.
Posted by Nicole at May 21, 2005 10:35 AMsounds like slang for huffing.
