Job prospects abound. I hope one of them comes to fruition, because I'm really frustrated with stupid-telco-who-shall-remain-nameless. I suppose I shouldn't check my mail while I'm on vacation, but I couldn't resist. Now I'm even more disgusted with them.
At this point, I'm entertaining the idea of telling them that I actually want to be a Technical Lead, not a Manager. While my title says Manager and I have a small staff, it was understood by Mark and Doug that my position was more about being a Tech Lead than a Manager. The new director guy *clearly* expects me to delegate all actual work. That kind of job is just not for me. I guess I should think this one through a little more before I open my big mouth. I may wait until they make me visit Austin next time and then drop this in person. If I don't quit before then.
I'm really really not into going back to work Tuesday. It's not that I'm lazy, it's that it really sucks.
I'm off to do a hike in Ramsey's Draft with a friend who's moving far, far away soon.
