I'm starting to think that Bill Gates really doesn't want Microsoft to get broken up. I used to think that he was just putting up a good face and he surely realized what he and the shareholders will stand to make if the company gets broken up.
I can't figure out how this won't be a money making thing for everyone involved if the break up of AT&T was any example. I guess he's just that stubborn.
This also depends on my assumption that the company will be broken in two pieces. I think Microsoft has enough assets to split up between two or three companies, but not, say seven. For two years I've been imagining an O/S half and a software half.
