Kent, CT

8/11 ~ Kent, CT (.3 AT miles hiked, .8 in to town)

I've done most of my town chores, and since there's no where to stay here for less than $80 for a single, I'll be heading 7 miles to Stewart Hollow Leanto later on. Kent is a really nice little town. If this is any indication, I'm going to like New England quite a bit. Other hikers told me that Kent was expensive and unfriendly, but I've found the opposite to be true. Perhaps that's because the D.C. area is pretty pricey and the people there aren't nice.

I got a outdoor shower behind the outfitter. I couldn't get my hair clean because there was no water pressure, but the rest of me is clean, and it really helped my attitude. Simple things.
