I think my arms are going to fall off. Don't ever strip wallpaper if you can avoid it. Furthermore, if you're putting up wallpaper, do the world a favor and put down some fucking primer first! Our bathroom in the Hickory Cluster house was a true monstrosity. If we remember, we'll take pictures. Oddly it's appearance is not seriously marred by the wall missing half it's wallpaper.
The fixtures are a color I would call rosy brown. Just try and get a toilet seat that color in 2000, I dare you. The tile around the tub is a sandy color that really isn't warm enough to match the fixtures, but it's pretty neutral. The walls are what's really special though. Some one put the cheapest imaginable wallpaper on the unprimed walls back in 1965. It began to bubble, and the last owner decided to paint over the old paper. The paint they put over it was applied in precise 10" wide horizontal stripes. It's various browns and silver. The baseboards are silver. The back of the door is painted this way, even the door frame.
The paint is very high quality and won't absorb the water/steam, so I will be purchasing something I can roll and score the paper/paint with today. Actually, all the paint the previous owners applied is very high quality and they did a good job applying it. The colors are too dark and/or ugly in my opinion. Tino's not arguing.
The kitchen was ORANGE. I mean the color is called Valencia and it's BRIGHT ORANGE. Orange may be the color of fun, but it wasn't doing anything for the kitchen. Furthermore, it's an open floor plan, so that orange paint is visible from the living room, which makes it even worse.
They had taste, but very different taste from us.
Tino is cleaning the outside of the house. This looks to have not been done, well, ever. OK, it's probably been a few years. The floor-to-ceiling windows that make up one wall of the LR look fabulous now, I must say. The white sills have all been scrubbed (by T), and also look great.
Off to the races again.
