This is not a good day to be inside. It's sunny and warm. Like 80 degrees warm. Sigh.
My current song of the day is I'll Stick Around. Frankly, it was last night's song too. In fact, I'm listening to it right now.
I still recall my initial shock at the first Foo Fighter's record. When I heard the first song on the radio (I think it was This Is A Call), I thought that some of Kurt had really rubbed off on Dave. The more of the album I heard, the more I realized that Dave Grohl did play a large part in the whole Nirvana sound. Particularly after Kurt's death but even before, there was some assumption by the public that as the frontman, he was the primary creative force in the band. I mean, yeah, Nirvana dissolved after he died, but that doesn't mean the he was the band.
Drummers are just vastly overlooked. I think that people assume that because what they are doing isn't melodic that therefore they aren't contributing in that area. Heck, look at Grant Hart, who has, of course, slipped into obscurity. He did do some good things without Bob, but never acheived the notoriety of Sugar or even Bob's solo efforts. I mean, considering that Bob Mould is now writing WWF Scripts, perhaps it would be better to disappear.
