Dad and Me

Well, it would appear that my father and I are both now members of the happy Bell system family. This happenned sort of accidentally. He originally worked for Illinois Bell, got moved around in the Consent Decree and wound up at AT&T. He retired from AT&T, got bored very quickly and was snapped up by a competitor. That company has been acquired by an RBOC, so he's once again back to working for Ma Bell.

I took a job at a fiber network company that has also been acquired by an RBOC.

The alarming thing is that we *do almost the same thing* for two different RBOCs, and that it all happenned organically. We each went down our own career paths and wound up at the same place.

This really intrigues me in an environment vs heredity sort of way.
