Long Time, No Blog

I haven't written anything here in a while. I've been too busy frothing at the mouth on mailing lists and forums. I don't really want to get too political here, and frankly, the story on the economy hasn't changed one bit. The sunshine-blowers are still singing the same song as are the dollar bears, gold bugs and general market contrarians.

This story, I thought, was worthy of a note. It's certainly a weird one. My archive of the story is here.

CHONGQING - Residents of a remote village in south-west China have been baffled by a strange phenomenon for the past 32 years - holes appearing mysteriously in clothes and fabric that are not worn on the body.

Yeah, sounds totally preposterous, but apparently it's a well enough known phenomenon that an attempt at a scientific explanation has been made.

District officials later sent in investigators to carry out checks but they could find no explanation for the phenomenon.
An expert believed the mysterious holes were probably the result of movements in the earth's magnetic field that were caused by environmental changes, the report said.

Imagine that. A disturbance in "The Force" could put random holes in your clothes. Who knew?
