Still Snowing

It's still snowing. I'm not sure how much there is out there, but here's what the Wagoneer looks like from my office window. This is truck, not a station wagon, in case you are unfamiliar with how tall it is.

I tried to measure, but all the easily accessible spots are sheltered by the house somewhat. I got a measurement of 22" there, but I suspect if I walked out to the middle of the driveway, I'd find it to be deeper than that. My hesitation is that it's over my knees, which makes walking hard.

The French, Again

Going to war without the French is like going deerhunting without an accordion.

Mark Steyn on the French

It reserves the right to treat French Africa as its colonies, Middle Eastern dictators as its clients, the European Union as a Greater France and the UN as a kind of global condom to prevent the spread of Americanization. All this it does shamelessly and relatively effectively. It's time the rest of the West was so clear-sighted.

This is an excellent description of the current French shenanigans, which is exactly what Steyn feels they are. The whole thing is here.

That Was Quick

Already, the folks at whatreallyhappened have found something to complain about. Since the Feds said there is no evidence of terrorism, they have expressed suspicion.

When the usual suspects expressed the same suspicion over the crash of Flight 587, I agreed with them wholeheartedly. In fact, I still wonder about tht one, but this is nonsense. There's no weapon that will shoot down something moving 12,000 mph at 200,000 ft. Tampering isn't even necessary since there was a known problem on take off.

I think we have to accept this is a terrible tragedy and an incredible embarrassment for NASA.

Space Shuttle

As this happenned at 200,000 feet. It's hard to imagine how it could be anything but a tragic accident, but I would not take a bet against the tin-foil-hat crowd blaming the Israeli astronaut. Though I can't imagine how, I have faith in the total insanity of Zionist conspiracy bullshit to adapt to the situation. I'm sure they are already on the internet expressing their displeasure as we speak.

I mean, these people think the 9/11 planes were equipped with military grade autopilot systems (Global Hawk) and that Bush/Cheney/etc blew up those buildings for the purpose of self-aggrandizement.

whatreallyhappened doesn't have anything up yet, but I bet they will soon.
