Yikes.

This is posted in every kitchen in my office, and it has been driving me nuts for a year. I finally had the place to myself tonight, and I was able to get a picture.

1) CLOGG???

2) People are so dumb the need to be told not to put POTTED PLANT SOIL down the drain? Where are we getting these people!?

3) Unnecessary repairs? Yeah, right! Now that I've put POTTED PLANT SOIL down the drain, those repairs are no longer unnecessary, ARE THEY?!

Yeesh. For this I went to college?

Perhaps the authors had been reading too much Neal Stephenson and thought that "CLOGG" was the "zargon" of the age. Or perhaps I've been reading too much Stephenson myself.

Heh.

Anyway, people are indeed blithely ignorant that dumping the contents of a french press or permanent gold coffee filter will clog a drain. I've seen coffee grounds recommended as part of a treatment regimen for getting rid of various odors emanating from a garbage disposal (for the combination of abrasion and coffee's odor absorption properties) but if you flush them every day you'll end up with a clogged sink before long. And since people are, in fact, stupid -- at least when they're in communal kitchens -- they need to be reminded of this.
