In League with the Reverse Vampires...

In the wake of the 9-11 attack, I have developed a taste for conspiracy theory. First of all, I find that seeing alternative views, even if they are totally whack, brings me into contact with media that I would not otherwise see. I think it's healthy to consider everything. At least it makes me feel better. YMMV and all that.

Without further ado, here are my favorite 9-11 conspiracy theories, ranked in a sort of order:

  • The planes never had any pilots and were under the robotic control of the U.S. Government.

The Rense site is...interesting. It looks like the owner is rational until you see the home page with all the flying saucer stuff.

Indymedia is notoriously left-wing and sometimes poorly researched. There are a lot of wacko things on here, I trust that's in the interest of being open to "all voices." This does, however, leave us to sort the wheat from the chaff.

  • Israel has framed Osama Bin Laden

This one's really got some momentum now that the Israeli art-student spy ring has turned up somewhere else. Antiwar goes quite a bit further than the traditional media seeing a full-on conspiracy here. I have to say that the photo of this Mr. Raimondo is just spectacular. Hint: he only looks like Francisco d'Anconia.

  • Grand Chessboard Theory

The Bildebergers and the Trilateral Commission are trying to take over the world. If you look at who these folks are, I think they've been quite successful at taking over the world. These folks remain shocked and appalled.

  • No plane at the pentagon

The Hunt the Boeing site, a French book site, the BBC and the snopes debunking. None of it is at all convincing.

  • Chemtrails are more a "government bad" conspiracy than a 9-11 conspiracy, which is why it's on the bottom of the list, but it's too good to pass up. I really don't know what the supposed purpose of this deadly government plot is. Neither do they, I think.

    Enjoy.
