Don't Tell Anyone I'm Bitter

I'm not happy about the fact that my mother and step-father didn't pay for school. I don't even pretend to know why, but I was limited from the start. When I hinted around that I might want to do something that involved a master's or doctorate, I was told that I was on my own. At 18, this seemed like a huge burden, and since I didn't want the Business degree I was being steered into, I decided to get a job. When I decided to take some Finance classes, they payed. When I said I really wanted a Liberal Arts degree, they stopped. With my grades and boards, I could have gone anywhere I wanted and done anything I wanted, more or less, yet they didn't think college was important. Why should I be bitter?
