I still maintain that there is someone clueful on the staff of That 70's Show.
It always amazed me to hear In The Street on television at all. I loved hearing it all the same. This season, they've substituted a cover of the song by none other than Cheap Trick. It's actually *really* good. I had to pause the credits to find out who it was and I was shocked -- and this is from someone that actually likes Cheap Trick, remember.
I've always liked them. For Surrender and the fact that they were the very first live band thing I ever saw. I was 13 and it was at the Grenada Theater in Chicago. The Grenada has been replaced with a not-very-interesting high rise building, so I feel priviledged to have seen a show in there.
If there were no Surrender, there could be no Naked Raygun cover of it, and that would be tragic. Anyone who has an mp3 of that should give it to me. I'd be really grateful.
Dang, just talking about that song makes me want to hear it. I *love* mp3s.
Anyway, back to That 70's Show. This week, Eric and Donna are in the parked vista cruiser, and September Gurls is playing on the radio. Although Big Star wasn't played on the radio then, they really should have been, and I like the revisionist viewpoint with regards to the music. We all know that these kids most likely would have been listening to disco or something equally heinous.
