Stupid Job. Be More Funny

We've met the new boss, and he's nothing like the old boss. It's not that he sucks, he's just kind of weasely and totally tows the party line. This indicates that he is not to be trusted. I mean, my current boss and I totally trust each other, and now I just report to some random guy who is coming off as slimy at present.

He has also made the mistake of summoning us to Texas next week. Apparently, he's so important that it's better for the company to fly 8 people to Texas than one man to Reston. If they really want to get rid of us, they'll take that time to tell us we have to relocate to Texas. Then we'll quit for sure. The magic words "retention package" have not been mentioned. There is also the possibility of a "severance package", which might be a good thing.

A fellow manager in the group (there are four of us and one empty slot. all report to my director except for the empty slot and one who report directly to the VP), one that reports to my guy, has a theory. He seems to think the company is going to kill off the IP network all together and go back to being a "carrier's carrier", which is what they were before they wanted to be an ISP.

I wish them luck in their future endeavors. I don't think I'm long for this world.
