Astrological Reading Recommendations

I'm an advanced user of astrology, and most of my recommendations are for someone who is at least past the beginner stage. Here is a list of some of my favorite astrology books:

  • Robert Hand - Planets In Transit
This is the book for analyzing your chart on a day to day basis.
  • Robert Hand - Horoscope Symbols
This is a beginner's book, but a highly technical one. There is much useful information here, but it is NOT an easy read. Be prepared to think and visualize.
  • Liz Greene - Saturn: A New Look at an Old Devil
    Great basic book on Saturn.
  • Liz Greene - Astrology for Lovers
The title is silly, and the book doesn't work really well for its intended purpose, however, it contains very valuable material including basic sign and element information along with the related mythological tales.
  • Liz Greene - Relating
A good book on synastry and all manner of human relationships.
  • Liz Greene & Howard Sasportas - The Luminaries and The Inner Planets
These are from a lecture series and contain excellent material in regards to psychological astrology.
  • Debbi Kempton Smith - Secrets from a Stargazer's Notebook
OK, enough Liz Greene. This is completely different. It's a natal chart cookbook, plain and simple. She's got a great sense of humor, and her reductive method is surprisingly accurate.
  • Donna Cunningham - Moon Signs
It's exactly what it says it is.
  • Jeanne Avery - The Rising Sign
The best take on ascendants and houses that I've yet seen. A few to many celebrity references, but still chock full of information.
